Educational Program
At DSCC, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality early childhood education and care. Our approach is guided by National and State frameworks and underpinned by reflective practice, inclusivity, and strong family partnerships.
We are committed to:
- Providing an educational program that is informed by reflective practice, critical analysis, and intentional planning.
- Supporting each child to achieve learning outcomes consistent with the Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
- Creating learning environments where children learn through play, develop decision-making skills, problem-solve, and build meaningful relationships.
- Promoting equitable and inclusive behaviours and practices through environments that support and reflect diversity
- Actively involving families in the development and review of educational programs and practices.
Educational Environments at DSCC
At DSCC, we offer five thoughtfully designed indoor learning areas, each named after trees that thrive alongside our children. These are:
- Cedar Rose 3 to 16 months *
- Cottonwood 16 months to 2 years *
- Wattle 2 years to 3 years
- Banksia 3 years to 4 years
- Golden Elm 4 years to 5 years
* Cedar Rose and Cottonwood's age range is flexible and may be adjusted based on community and operational needs.
In addition to our indoor spaces, DSCC features three individual outdoor learning environments:
A dedicated outdoor area for Cedar Rose
A shared space between Cottonwood and Wattle
A shared space between Banksia and Golden Elm
Family Engagement
At DSCC, we value the importance of family involvement. We encourage families to be an active part of their child’s day, sharing ideas, cultural practices, and aspects of home life that can help to enrich our program and strengthen the sense of community.
